Of the
students who receive a bachelor’s degree from UC or CSU, nearly 60% began
their careers at a California community college. Nearly 60% of CSU
bachelor’s degree holders and over 32% of UC bachelor’s degree holders
began in our community colleges. Just as important, the percentages have
been steadily increasing. The CSU percentage has changed from 51.2%
(1988-989) to 59.9% (1997-98); and the UC percentage has changed from
19.5% (1988-89) to 32.2% (1997-98). |
